In a tragic development that has shocked the Ugandan social media community, a 22-year-old security guard named Marvin Webisa was formally charged and remanded to prison on February 12, 2026, for the murder of TikTok influencer Diana Namulinde, better known as Diana Skyz.
Diana Skyz, a 24-year-old digital content creator and businesswoman, was found dead in her rented apartment in Kyanja, a suburb of Kampala, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Discovery: Her body was found after friends became concerned when she stopped answering calls and messages. Upon checking her residence, they found the door open and her body inside.
Cause of Death: Preliminary police reports indicate she was killed by strangulation during a night attack.
Marvin Webisa, who was employed by Gibeon Security System and deployed to provide security at the apartment complex where Diana lived, appeared before the Kampala City Hall Court. He faces three capital offenses:
Murder: Unlawfully causing the death of Diana Namulinde with malice aforethought.
Rape: The prosecution alleges that Webisa had carnal knowledge of the victim without her consent on the night of the attack.
Aggravated Robbery: Webisa and others (still at large) reportedly stole electronics and luxury items valued at over Shs18 million.
Evidence against Webisa was bolstered when police reportedly found him in possession of several items belonging to the deceased, including:
An iPhone 17 Pro Max and a Samsung Galaxy A15.
Personal accessories like AirPods and a power bank.
A significant collection of fashion items: 19 handbags, multiple suitcases, and over 20 pairs of shoes (ranging from high heels to boots).
Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu remanded Webisa to Luzira Prison until March 3, 2026, as investigations continue.
While Webisa is the primary suspect in custody, police are still pursuing at least two other individuals believed to be involved in the crime.
Under Ugandan law, the charges of murder, rape, and aggravated robbery are capital offenses and can carry a maximum sentence of death upon conviction.
